We’re thrilled to announce the rollout of our brand-new calendar, designed with you in mind. After months of development and reviewing survey feedback from our participants, we’re ready to unveil a more intuitive and intentional training experience. Our previous approach focused on providing participants with best practices, information, and demonstrations based on topics. With this revision, we aim to offer diverse training categories that are driven by hands-on experiences. We are excited to execute engaging training sessions and maximize the return on investment in professional development.
The intentionality behind creating the training categories is rooted in a deep commitment to fostering comprehensive professional development. Each category has been thoughtfully designed to address specific topics, ensuring that participants gain practical skills, advanced knowledge, and innovative insights. Offering a diverse range of categories allows for training sessions to be crafted to the targeted participants. Below you will find the new training categories and experiences that will be implemented starting Fall 2024.
CIRT Led

Whether you’re a busy professional looking to make the most of your lunch break or an eager learner seeking new opportunities for growth, our Lunch & Learn sessions offer the perfect blend of convenience and enrichment.
- Roundtable | Collaboration meets expertise to foster professional growth and innovation. In these dynamic sessions, participants gather around the table to engage in open dialogue, share insights, and co-create solutions to common challenges in various fields.
- Tech Bytes | Provides pockets of tech wisdom to fuel your tech savviness. In today’s fast-paced world, staying ahead in technology requires continuous learning and adaptation.
Master Series

- Open Education Week | Led by CIRT’s Instructional Design Team, these activities are designed to raise awareness about the Open Education Resources (OER) movement and its impact on teaching and learning worldwide.
Open Forums
- Peer Learning | A collaborative and supportive environment for educators to learn from one another, share experiences, and exchange ideas. These sessions harness the collective expertise and insights of a group of peers, allowing participants to benefit from diverse perspectives.
- Learning from Experts | Provides invaluable opportunities to engage with and learn from professionals who are leaders in their respective fields. These sessions offer a platform for educators to gain insights, expertise, and innovative ideas
Vendor Led
Offers comprehensive guidance and support for educators looking to optimize their use of tech tools in the classroom. These sessions typically are led by experts from the vendor company who provide firsthand knowledge, best practices, and practical tips for integrating their products effectively into teaching practices.
While we worked diligently on new training categories, we worked even harder on creating principles for how training is delivered. The key to engaging participants lies in creating interactive, memorable content that caters to different learning experiences. By incorporating the new training principles, we are aiming to keep participants motivated and excited about attending our CIRT events. Below you will find the new training principles that will align with the training categories.
- Facilitator-Guided: Facilitator(s) will deliver content with interactive components throughout the training.
- Workshops: Two facilitators (or one facilitator and one assistant) will deliver a hands-on session where you can apply what you are learning in real-time.
- Webinar: Facilitator(s) will provide structured informational training ending with a Q&A segment.
- Collaborative Learning: Facilitator(s) will organize a learning environment that provides an opportunity for exchanging ideas and best practices.
- Panel Discussions: Facilitator(s) will moderate a discussion between experts and learners to discuss specific topics in depth.
